    Can`t install Kubuntu 8.10 beta

    Hello!

I am new to Kubuntu, but not to Linux (Gentoo)

I have a 60GB HDD on my laptop (AMD64) and half is for XP, other half is for Linux. I tried to install the Kubuntu 8.10 beta the installation goes fine, but when it comes to end copying files it requests to take out the CD and press Enter. When I do that notebook just turns off and when I start it it just loads WIN XP

I dont know how the installation works, but I would presume that before reseting the laptop there should be some sort of Bootloader setup?

    Any suggestions?

    Thx, Sason

It sounds like a duff burn.

It would pay to stuff the CD in the drive and boot into it, the when the screen loads, select the Check CD for defects option, and if it shows any errors, bin the CD and burn another.

Boot into it, then do the Check CD for defects again.

    Good Luck

Did that, check was o.k., downloaded again, burned again and still no-go...

      Any ideas?
